Minister Eyra Ruiz: the National Assembly requested 2,500 vaccines against Covid-19

One week after the National Assembly will carry out a VIP vaccination day at its facilities, the Minister of Health and member of the Panavac-19 team, Eyra Ruiz justified the designation of doses against Covid-19 to this State body.

In addition, he revealed that the Assembly had requested 2,500 doses for deputies and officials. But the Panavac-19 team only approved one batch of 500 doses.

“This is a Panavac strategy that is continuous where we evaluate all requests. And in the essential groups that is phase one and stage 1 B, they include firefighters, Sinaproc … everything you know: Supreme Court … ports. They are different institutions that you are including ”, he said.

Ruiz said that since “obviously there are not enough vaccines, we have to give a little to all of them. In fact, the Assembly requested 2,500, but we wanted to prioritize: we requested prioritization of their groups with chronic diseases, over 60, some people who were more exposed to care for the community, and they gave us a list of 500 people, which they prioritized. So it was given, just as it was given to other institutions that are also essential groups ”.

The minister was this Friday, May 28, at the Penonomé autoexpress where the health authorities place the doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

This week, President Laurentino Cortizo justified the vaccination in the Assembly, but questioned whether it was done secretly.
