“We will continue and expand the program for advertising and promotion of the Black Sea municipalities and for the interior of the country. In reality, with this reform, we started working for the 2024 summer season already at the end of last summer, and I expect the good results from it to affect the hoteliers as well,” said Minister of Tourism Zaritsa Dinkova during the Black Sea Forum for Tourism and Hotels Hospitality & Tourism Summit 2024.
Minister Dinkova emphasized that the European Commissioner for the internal market, Thierry Breton, shows his complete understanding of the continuation of the 9% VAT rate until the end of this year, but for this the relevant mechanism must be found.
In addition, the ministry is working on two more projects at the national level through which the Bulgarian tourism sector will be supported.
“The first of them is related to the consequences that business suffers as a result of the military conflict in Ukraine, and the second instrument is related to innovation, so that Bulgarian hoteliers can be competitive through sustainability,” said Minister Dinkova.
“The Bulgarian hotel industry must be competitive with its Western counterparts, because Bulgaria is a safe and stable destination. This is exactly the feedback from the growing Italian and Spanish markets. Bulgarian wine, culture and authenticity are gaining people’s interest, and this will be the focus of the tourist product we offer to make it competitive and sustainable,” emphasized Minister Dinkova.
