“I want to actively involve the Flemish local authorities to map out the most remarkable chip shops. It is obviously not the intention to protect everything. We are careful with our protections and therefore only opt for high-quality heritage pearls. I do want to put together a nice sample card for future generations,” says Minister Diependaele.

On Thursday, he emphasized that friturists should not be hindered in their activity by the protection. That is why the representatives of the sector will be closely involved in the investigation. By the end of this legislature, the first Flemish chip shops must be protected, according to Minister Diependaele.
