The Dutch agricultural sector will not escape contraction in the coming years due to this nitrogen crisis, but at the same time this sector will remain of great importance. “In fifteen years’ time I hope to see a thriving agricultural sector in the Netherlands, but also good water quality, good nature and a vibrant countryside.”
That is what agriculture minister Piet Adema said on Tuesday evening during the agricultural debate of the Reformatorisch Dagblad, held in the Midden Nederland Hallen in Barneveld. About four hundred interested people, many of them farmers, had come to this evening. “Things will have to change significantly,” said the minister. “That means an incredible cave.
