“Different Voices”

The government’s proposal regarding the minimum wage was dealt with by the Social Dialogue Council, but the social side did not manage to reach an agreement. In this situation, in accordance with the regulations, the amount of the minimum wage is determined by the Council of Ministers by way of a regulation.

– As part of the social side, various voices appeared in the Council for Social Dialogue. On the one hand, some employers’ organizations said that the minimum wage is too high, i.e. PLN 2,800 is too high. On the other hand, some trade unions said they were too small. But NSZZ “Solidarność” supported the wage at the level of PLN 2,800, believing that in times of crisis it is a sufficient increase – said Piotr Mueller.
