Minibuses in Kiev will disappear in 2-3 years

Mayor of Kiev Vitaliy Klichko said that in Kiev through two to three years minibuses will disappear.

About this he said in an interview with Radio NV.

The head of the Kiev city state administration explained that now the local authorities cannot prohibit the operation of this type of transport, since it “fulfills its function”.

“We cannot prohibit minibuses, they fulfill their function. But we are doing our best to purchase modern and comfortable public transport for a large number of passengers. And this is one of the ways by which we can push minibuses out of our city,” said Klitschko.

The mayor of Kiev recalled that only in recent years, the capital has purchased more 300 buses and more 100 trams. According to him, it takes 2-3 years for minibuses to disappear from the capital’s roads.

Note that by the end of 2021 Kiev will receive 10 new subway trains with a through passage. They will operate on the Syretsko-Pecherskaya (green – Ed.) Line of the Kiev metro.

As previously reported OBOZREVATEL, on the streets of Kiev there are fewer minibuses due to the dismissal of drivers. According to carriers, due to lockdown, minibuses incur losses… At the same time, the Kyiv City State Administration considers these statements to be manipulation.
