Mini Unveils New Generation Cooper Saloon with Updated Design and Electric Power Options

Mini has released the first images of the new generation Cooper saloon. If we compare with the current model, in the new generation the cabin has been made much more austere, that is, there is no instrument panel behind the steering wheel, but only a heads-up display. Mini has followed the path of other manufacturers by merging the instrument panel and multimedia screen into one. For example, the speedometer will now be on the multimedia screen.

Another panel with physical buttons is placed under the screen. The steering wheel on the “two and ten” is made much thicker and the buttons on the steering wheel also look more substantial, at least visually.

The manufacturer has previously presented the design of the machine, which has also been generally made simpler than before. It is known that the new Cooper will be available with an electric power unit as well as an internal combustion engine. In the electric version, the offer will start with the Cooper E – it is equipped with a 181-horsepower electric motor on the front axle, as well as a 40.7kWh battery, which will provide around 300 kilometers on a single charge in the WLTP cycle. A 215-horsepower engine with a 54.2kWh battery is available for the Cooper SE version. It will give about 400km on a single charge.

Currently, Mini has demonstrated the design of the car from the outside, the interior, provided information about the electric power unit, but the manufacturer has not yet revealed when the car will have its official premiere. We certainly don’t have to wait long until then, so we are waiting for news from the Mini camp.
