According to information, at noon on the same day, a family in hamlet 2 (Ea Tieu commune, Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province) held a meal with about 20 people.
At about 12:30, while cooking hot pot, a mini gas cylinder suddenly exploded, causing the fire to ignite.
Ms. PTHT (one of the people with burns) said that the mini gas cylinder was exchanged by her family at the shop. While cooking hot pot, the back of the mini gas tank exploded.
Although the stove and hot pot remained stationary, the gas emitted from the tank caught fire. The explosion left 7 people (including a small child) with burns in many places on the body.
According to Ms. T. after the incident, everyone was taken to Cu Kuin District Medical Center for first aid and then transferred to the Central Highlands General Hospital. T.’s mother was severely burned, so the family requested to move to Gia Lai province for external treatment.
