Fully electric models are joining the already known internal combustion engine versions of the Cooper and Countryman.
The British car company Mini has presented the Cooper electric hatchback and the Countryman electric crossover. The Cooper is built on a completely new platform designed exclusively for electric vehicles, without even the possibility of installing internal combustion engines. The car retains the traditional Mini look with round headlights and taillights in the shape of the British flag, but has lost decorative elements such as wheel arches and door sills or chrome decorations, which were done to improve the aerodynamics of the electric hatchback.
The electric Cooper will be available in two variants: Cooper E and Cooper SE. In the first case, it is equipped with a 184 HP motor on the front axle, providing acceleration to a hundred in 7.3 seconds, while the battery with a capacity of 40.7 kWh allows you to travel up to 305 km on a single charge. In the second variant, the Cooper gets a 218 hp electric motor and a 54.2 kWh battery, which provides 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and a range of up to 402 km. 30 minutes is enough to charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent at the fast charger.
The electric Cooper is expected to go on sale in the spring of 2024. Cooper E will cost at least 32,900 euros, Cooper SE – at least 36,900 euros.
Electric crossover Mini Countryman is equipped with a 204-horsepower electric motor on the front axle as standard, while the more powerful modification has two electric motors, one on each axle. Power reserve – from 433 to 462 km, depending on the version.
