Minggang Zhang, deputy general manager of Huawei France, receives new responsibilities: spokesperson and public relations for the subsidiary.
The Deputy General Manager of Huawei France since 2017, Minggang Zhang, will also lead the public relations of the French branch and coordinate the team in charge of exchanges with institutional actors, journalists, academia and professional associations.
Express biography of Minggang Zhang
Minggang Zhang began his career as a design engineer, then as marketing director at TRT, the subsidiary of Phillips dedicated to telecommunications systems, which will then be taken over by the American Lucent. Between 1998 and 2002, the American equipment manufacturer sent him to Boston to set up a marketing department dedicated to Asia and China. He then returned to France and left the group to enter, as co-founder, the start-up Optogone, specialized in optical components. Following the acquisition of the latter, he joined Huawei in 2007, as manager of the Orange France account. In 2011, he took over portfolio management at Bouygues Telecom, a position he held until 2017, when he was promoted to deputy general manager and joined the company’s executive committee.
This 61-year-old Francophile completed his high school education at the Polytechnic University of Grenoble, after graduating from the École Normale Supérieure in Canton, China. Minggang Zhang received his engineering degree in 1990.
Huawei has been present in France for 20 years and currently has nearly 1,000 employees, including 300 researchers in 6 research centers.
