Currently, seven ships are observed at sea, six of which belong to Bulgaria and one to Romania.
The mine sweeping group of the Bulgarian and Romanian navies began searching for and destroying mines in the Black Sea along the route of the new Ukrainian sea corridor.
The corresponding information was voiced by the editor of the BlackSeaNews portal Andrey Klimenko on his page in Facebook.
Currently, seven ships are observed in this area of the Black Sea waters, six of which belong to the Bulgarian side, and one to the Romanian side.
The ship group includes three minesweepers, a minelayer, two frigates and one patrol ship.
After the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, the navies of Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey periodically neutralize sea mines drifting in the waters of the Black Sea and posing a threat to shipping. In the Black Sea waters, there have been numerous cases of civilian ships being blown up by sea mines.
Let us recall that in August Ukraine announced the creation of a temporary sea corridor for merchant ships that call at Ukrainian ports. The passage of ships is carried out under the supervision of the Ukrainian Navy, the crews warn about the mine danger and the threat from the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said in September that the Royal Air Force was flying over the Black Sea to deter Russia from unlawfully targeting civilian shipping.
