Mines: Tambao and Inata ceded to the Turks

The Mining Council of March 1, 2023 took two important decisions. It granted the Inata permit which was recently withdrawn to the Indian Balaji Group and that of Tambao, until then vacant, to Turkish companies. Extract from the council of ministers

“The first report relates to an authorization to transfer mining assets for the industrial exploitation of Tambao manganese to the company AFRO TURK TAMBAO SA, through the direct agreement procedure. The Tambao manganese deposit is located in the town of Markoye, Oudalan province, Sahel region.

The exploitation of this deposit is an integrated project and a vector for the development of the Sahel region and the regions crossed by the railway. This project constitutes a factor of sub-regional integration by its contribution to the opening up of the countries of the Liptako-Gourma Authority which are Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.

Operation will generate 1,000 direct jobs and 3,000 indirect jobs as well as revenue for the benefit of the State budget.

The second report relates to an authorization to transfer mining assets for the industrial exploitation of INATA’s large gold mine to the company AFRO TURK INATA SA through the direct agreement procedure. This gold mine is located at Inata, Soum province, Sahel region. »
