Quarterfinals SFPL – Only two games for Minerva and Maniacs

The first game of the quarterfinals was on the weekend of 25/26. March on the agenda. The third game takes place a week later, on 1./2. held in April. The quarter-finals will be played in “Best of Three” format.

SFPL quarterfinals:

  • Futsal Minerva (1.) – Violence Futsal Uni Bern (8.)
  • Futsal Maniacs (2.) – Uni Futsal Team Bulle (7.)
  • FC Wil 1900 (3.) – Salines Futsal (6.)
  • Friends United (4.) – FC Uetendorf (5.)

Futsal Minerva welcomed Mobulu Futsal Uni Bern to a Bern derby on Saturday evening at 6.30 p.m. in the Weissenstein sports hall (Bern). After a clear 7-1 win, Mobulu showed a different face in the second game despite Minerva’s dominance. Thanks to a strong performance in the first half (3:2 to Minerva) they kept hope of winning the game. However, the unbeaten leaders picked up speed in the second half, thanks largely to Fabio Aguiar (who scored four goals in the game) to win 7-2. Minerva qualified for the semifinals where they will meet the winner of the series Friends United – FC Uetendorf.

In a very open series, Friends United received FC Uetendorf on Sunday at 1.30 p.m. in the Bentoncoup Arena in Schönenwerd. After a hard fought first game, Friends United were looking for a win in the second game to avoid game number 3 which could be very tricky. But things didn’t go as planned for the Aargauer. FC Uentendorf started the game very strongly and led 1:5 at half-time. In a crazy second half that saw Friends United draw 6-7 by the 35th half, there were seven goals in the last five minutes and FC Uentendorf managed to hold onto a small lead to win on the final whistle 9-11. The third (decisive) game will take place on Sunday, April 2nd. held at 4 p.m.

FC Wil 1900 suffered in their first game against Salines Futsal and had to dig deep for the 3-2 win. With a comfortable win in the second game (Sunday, 2 p.m., Lindenhof sports hall in Wil), they probably wanted to prove that they were not in third place in the table by accident, which the eastern Swiss failed to do. They faced a hungry Salines Futsal, who put on a veritable offensive tornado in the game, leading 7-2 at half-time. FC Wil was unable to turn the tide and eventually lost 6:13. The third game takes place on Saturday evening at 8.30 p.m. (Gymnasium Freudegg Lichtensteig).

Futsal Maniacs welcomed the Uni Futsal Team Bulle on Sunday at 4.30 p.m. in the Wehntal sports hall (Niederweningen ZH) with the aim of winning the series in two games and preparing for the semi-finals. The team from Bulle put in a good performance but were unlucky. In fact, countless shots on the post accumulated in this game. The Maniacs controlled the game well and kept their box clean to win 2-0. Maniacs now meets the winner of FC Wil – Salines Futsal in the semifinals.
