A talented group of Minecraft players have just built New York City on a one-to-one scale. Numerous Minecraft the fans are extremely talented and have built some very impressive cityscapes and buildings over the years. One player even built the entire Big Ben clock tower out of Minecraftsurvival mode.
Players can integrate in many different ways Minecraft. Some choose to build simple but beautiful gardens and aquariums, while others build on a much larger scale and build massive cities. Either way, these builds are impressive considering the players’ attention to detail. Some players use different shaders and Minecraft mods to make their blocks more realistic and give the city a photorealistic look. Players have used them to recreate buildings around the world, like the Minecraft version of the tallest building in Vietnam that looks almost like a photo.

This scale model is a perfect representation of the city and is available for players to explore and walk around. Looking at the image feels like looking at an actual image of New York except for some of the obvious blocks in the image. The group built streets, bridges, skyscrapers and railroads. The attention to detail and the impressive scale of the construction make this a truly remarkable build.
This construction is part of a much larger project taking place in the Minecraft world called “Build The Earth”. The goal of this project is to build the whole world in one-to-one scale and make sure the details are as close to the real thing as possible. They recruit people to build different areas they know while allowing people to walk around in different currently built areas. The project has currently built approximately 6700 square kilometers, or approximately 2500 square miles, and there are nearly 4500 constructions currently underway.
This project is an extremely huge undertaking, which is currently recruiting people from all over the world to help. It also encourages people to build areas they know and collaborate with other builders in their area. It will be exciting to see how long this project will take and whether or not it can be completed, of course there will be areas that will not be built on, but hopefully with the awesome skills of the Minecraft community, most of the world will be explorable.
