Tomorrow, the game update number 1.20 will be released, which will introduce many new features. The biggest novelty is the addition of archeology to the game, which is a collection of many new items and mechanics that enrich the gameplay. Also those players who expected the addition of a new mob and biome will not be disappointed. As always, in addition to the titular main novelties, several minor novelties will also be added.

Almost two years ago, during Minecraft Live 2020, the planned novelties were presented, which were supposed to enrich the cult title with new functionalities related to archaeology, now in the newly released snapshot 1.20 they have finally been implemented.

It includes e.g. new blocks of suspicious sand, a new tool in the form of a brush that will allow you to search suspicious sand, where you can find various secrets, and finally shards of pottery that, when put together, create a unique pot.

People who expected the emergence of new types of mobs will also not be disappointed, because the Sniffer has been added – its eggs can be found in places related to the newly added archeology mechanism, and in its adult form it will help us find unique seeds from which we can grow rare ornamental plants. The last big novelty will be another new biome called Cherry Blossom. This biome is designed to captivate players with the lovely pink colors of the new trees and vegetation. In addition, a few minor novelties will be introduced, such as hanging signs and cherry seedlings. New versions will be released as snapshots for the Java version on February 15, and as a preview for the Bedrock version later. Of course, it should be remembered that the snapshot is not the final version of the product, which is an official release, but still a test phase and there may be technical problems related to the presented novelties.
