Mincetur promotes national craft fair “Arte Nativa 2022”

As part of the policy of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) to promote economic reactivation and consolidate the craft production of the native Amazonian peoples, Minister Roberto Sánchez announced the opening of the call to participate in the national craft fair ” Native Art 2022″.

The head of the Mincetur highlighted: “This fair aims to become the main commercial platform for the artisan offer from regions of the Peruvian Amazon; Likewise, promote the development and preservation of crafts of indigenous origin, respecting the cultural difference and identity of each native Amazonian people.

Sánchez added: “Native Art 2022 represents an important commercial opportunity for the native artisans of our country, since it allows them to show their products, not only to the national public but also to foreigners, who are people interested in discovering the cultural richness of the Peruvian Amazon, reflected in the elaboration of utilitarian and decorative products made by hand, which have natural inputs as raw material, which are obtained using ancestral techniques from the jungle of our country”.

The objectives of this event are framed in articles 18º and 40º of Law 29073 – Law of the Artisan and the Development of the Craft Activity – which indicate that the State through MINCETUR will promote the organization of craft fairs in coordination with the competent bodies; as well as, it will ensure the development and preservation of crafts of indigenous and native origin.

IMPORTANT

The National Craft Fair “Native Art 2022” will be held from Friday, October 7 to Sunday, October 16 at Kennedy Park in the district of Miraflores, in the city of Lima.

It will have 40 stands, which will be occupied by artisans chosen through a national call, linked to the 51 native Amazonian peoples considered in the List of Indigenous or Native Peoples of the Ministry of Culture, from the regions of Amazonas, Huánuco, Pasco, Ayacucho , Junín, San Martín, Cajamarca, Loreto, Ucayali, Cusco and Madre de Dios.

5 photographs (maximum) of the applicant’s craft offer must be attached, sent to the email: [email protected], stating the “APPLICANT’S NAME” in the subject.–
