TFI Securities analyst and arguably the most authoritative Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo revealed new details about the iPhone 13 line, which will only be released next fall.
According to Kuo, the 2021 iPhones will retain the new form factor and dimensions of the iPhone 12 line. At the same time, one of the innovations of the iPhone 13 Pro line will be a new ultra-wide-angle camera with f / 1.8 aperture and autofocus (versus f / 2.4 with a fixed focus in iPhone 12). This will allow the peephole to capture more light and take crisp close-up shots.
At the same time, according to Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini will receive the same ultra-wide as the current generation of iPhone. And the updated ultra-wide-angle module will become the standard for the entire line only in 2022 with the release of iPhone 14. Also, Ming-Chi Kuo said that the 2022 iPhone may have a periscope telephoto lens, which can significantly increase the iPhone’s optical zoom capabilities.
According to previous insights from Kuo, the iPhone 13 will be the first iPhone without any connectors, a 120Hz ProMotion display (like the iPad Pro) and a new generation of Touch ID that will be integrated into the display and / or power button. Thus, while future innovations will visually correspond to the design of the iPhone 12, they may come with significant changes in hardware.
