Mimi on Macky’s campaign via WhatsApp: “Don’t vote for someone you don’t see” – Lequotidien

The Special Envoy of the Head of State is not at all kind to the former President of Senegal, Macky Sall. Mimi Touré attacked the approach of the outgoing President who decided to campaign from Morocco via WhatsApp.

“He has decided to no longer come and campaign in Senegal, so don’t vote for someone you don’t see. You are in Morocco, so don’t bother us. What you need to do is shut up. In any case, the Senegalese will not vote for you,” declared former PM, Mimi Touré, in Kaolack.

Between Ousmane Sonko and Macky Sall, it is a remote duel between two major figures in Senegalese political life, with a first round dating back to the 2019 Presidential election and won by former President Sall. In Morocco, after passing the baton to President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, winner of the last Presidential election, the former head of state is named head of the national list of his coalition, Takku wallu Senegaal. His return home to campaign had been mentioned recently, but President Macky Sall wanted to deny this information through an interview with a foreign radio.
