Mime Artist Aziz Nedumangad Announces End to Imitating Actor Ashoka

Actor and mime artist Aziz Nedumangad says he will no longer imitate actor Ashoka. This was revealed in the press meet related to the release of the movie Pajanchan Pranayam. The actor said that if everyone reacts like this, then imitation will follow.

‘I had seen that interview of Ashoketan. His friend sent it to me. Now if we find it offensive to imitate someone, it is freedom of speech to say so. Maybe he said it because he felt that way. It is the will of the mole. But I made a decision. No more imitating him.

Such performances are noticed on stage only if they are done in few overs. The audience is sitting on the stage so wide. If you want to reach that many people, you have to do it in a few overs. But not so much on TV. Not at all in the movie.

Ashokan Chetan has directly told me that he likes my stage performances. Don’t know what this is about. Teasing a man, if he doesn’t like it, then stop. Even if it is his own friend. Henceforth Ashoka will not imitate Chetan anywhere. Now if everyone starts reacting like this then imitation will stop. There are other mimics. The figure show is already getting out. The good skits will continue. We are mimics’ – said Aziz Nedumangad.

In a recent interview with a channel, Ashokan expressed disapproval of Aziz imitating his character Raghavan in Amarat. ‘Among the mimics there are those who pretend to be good. Similarly, there are people who imitate us very badly. There are people who irritate us. Many people show ten times more than what they have. I don’t know how I looked in the movie ‘Amaram’. They pull and stretch by holding on to a minute point somewhere. There are many people who deliberately make fun of it. There are those who do it out of love. When done with love, only done original. But there are many who do it regularly. I don’t think so. Aziz is a good mimic. Aziz is one of those people I mentioned earlier. He himself has said that Pulli became popular after imitating some actors like us. It’s everyone’s choice. Isn’t mimicry one’s profession? Ashoka said that we cannot say anything inside it.
