Milwaukee wins again in Washington with a masterful Giannis

The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Washington Wizards 133-122 on the road in the game that opened a new NBA week. Both teams met again after seeing each other just two days ago, in a match that Wisconsin also won. With this result, the Bucks get their fourth consecutive win, while the Wizards reap their fourth loss in a row.

From the first half the leadership was in the hands of those led by Mike Budenholzer. The Bucks never suffered shocks and managed to achieve a maximum difference of 18 points, to finally close the second quarter with a score in favor of 69-55.

After the break, the visitors continued to distance themselves, reaching a difference of 26 points. But in the last period, the locals managed to score a 16-2 run that worried more than one Milwaukee fan. Although it was not enough for the comeback, and the Bucks closed the game with 133 to 122-final.

For the winning team, the excellent performance of Giannis Antetokounmpo stood out with 31 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists and 3 steals. With these numbers, the Greek becomes the first player in the history of the Bucks to get three consecutive triple-doubles.

But Milwaukee had two other players who broke the 20-point barrier. Giannis’ performance was well accompanied by Khris Middleton’s 23 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists; and Brook Lopez’s 22 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 blocks.

While in the Wizards, Bradley Beal stood out with 37 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists; Russell Westbrook with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 17 assists; and Rui Hachimura, who continues to establish himself as Washington’s player of the future, and closed the night with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.

With this victory, Milwaukee remains firm in third position in the Eastern Conference, two games away from the leading Philadelphia 76ers. While Washington continues to lose positions in the lower part of the same conference. Those from the capital are located in location number 13, three and a half games from the last team that enters the play-in.

The Bucks will see action again next Wednesday, in what will be one of the most anticipated games of the season, when they visit the 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. For their part, the Wizards will be home again in 48 hours when they host the Sacramento Kings.
