The shock of the night returned to Milwaukee, winner in Philadelphia after overtime thanks to a huge Giannis Antetokounmpo once again. Luka Doncic and James Harden also did very well, in the victory of Dallas against the Clippers and Brooklyn in Indiana.
The shock for the Bucks
In the shock of the night, between Philadelphia and Milwaukee, the last word returned Wednesday to the third of the conference, the snatch winner (109-105) on the floor of the leader in the East. Despite a completely missed first half (only 31 points scored, against 45 for the Sixers), the Bucks recovered from a delay having reached at one point 19 points and snatched the victory after overtime. Author of 32 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists, Giannis Antetokounmpo, who even allowed himself to chamber the opposing public at the end of the match, was again the great architect of this fifth consecutive victory for his team. Phily and Joel Embid, still absent on Wednesday, remained on six consecutive successes. Series completed.
Doncic without mercy for the Clippers
Winners in Dallas (109-99) two days earlier, three months after the humiliation of Christmas against the same Mavericks (loss of more than 50 points), the Clippers hoped to achieve the pass of two Wednesday for the reunion between the two teams on the Texas floor. Sparkling (42 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds at 16 of 28 on shots, including 6 of 11 at three points), Luka Doncic decided otherwise. Even the very good copies of Paul George (28 points to 10 out of 20 on shots, including 5 out of 8 from afar) and Kawhi Leonard (20 bridges) could not do anything to slow down the momentum of the incredible Slovenian leader and of Dallas, who return to success (105-89), while Nicolas Batum (3 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals) and the Clippers relapse.
Harden takes matters into his own hands!
In the absence of the other two Brooklyn leaders Kevin Durant and James Irving, James Harden rose to his level when he was still defending the Houston Rockets colors to allow the Nets to continue their winning streak (124-115), Wednesday on the floor of the Pacers of Domantas Sabonis (18 points, 11 assists, 11 rebounds). Also author of a triple-double – the eleventh for the bearded man this season already – and what a triple-double (40 points, 15 assists, 10 rebounds), Harden took the game on his own throughout the evening. Brooklyn thus returns to Philadelphia at the head of the Eastern Conference.
Houston gloomy against Golden State
Here is a record that the Rockets would have done well. Beaten at home on Wednesday by Golden State and a still monstrous Draymond Green (16 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists), Houston recorded its 18th consecutive defeat. The worst series ever to be seen by the Texas franchise, which is heading almost inexorably to last place in the Western Conference. For the moment, the Rockets are second to last (14th). Yet they keep hitting rock bottom.
