After a delicate and injury-strewn start to the season, Milwaukee continues its ascent to the top of the Eastern Conference. Sunday afternoon, the Bucks won at Madison Square Garden against the Knicks (112-97) to clinch a 12th victory in their last 14 games.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and his teammates quickly took off in this unbalanced duel, facing one of the disappointments at the start of the NBA season. The “Greek Freak” led his team to a comfortable lead in the middle of the second quarter (40-26, 14th) and the Knicks never managed to come back. Antetokounmpo signed a triple-double (20 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists), well supported by Khris Middleton (24 points).

Grimes, the New York surprise
On the New York side, the absence of RJ Barrett (isolated as part of the anti-Covid protocol) prompted Tom Thibodeau to launch the young Quentin Grimes (21) in the five major. An opportunity seized by the rookie, excellent against the Bucks with 27 points (6 points more than his total in the NBA so far) including seven award-winning shots. Also holder, Evan Fournier was less successful (6 points, 2 of 8 shooting).
