American designer Milton Glaser passed away at the age of 91. His most famous work is the 1977 I Love NY logo, which he made for nothing for a publicity campaign for the state.
With the logo he depicted his lifelong love for his hometown. A local variant can be found in any souvenir shop anywhere in the world.
Glaser’s breakthrough was more than ten years earlier when he designed a poster of Bob Dylan. The psychedelic picture was included in the successful LP Bob Dylan’s Greatest Hits stopped, causing him to hang on the wall with millions of people. The leading museum of modern art in New York MoMA also has one in the collection.
