Sevda Shishmanova retrained in the role of a cockroach after being fired from the post of program director at BNT. Left without a job, the journalist hastily returns to her native Razgrad to take over the management of the “Mlin 97” bakery, which was privatized by her father in the last century.
After denationalization, Sally Shishmanov managed to get the stalled enterprise back on its feet. Key is his decision to ditch the bread and buns, concentrating only on the production of salads. It is this company that produces the legendary “Chrus-Chrus”, writes “Weekend”.
Today, “Mlin 97” is among the leading manufacturers, and its products are unsurpassed in quality. The reason for the good taste is also the fact that the technology has remained unchanged for half a century – the solets are baked in stone ovens, without any additives or E.
After the death of grandfather Sally, ownership of the factory was inherited by Sevda and her brother Adrian. After leaving BNT Shishmanova became part of the board of directors at the soleti factory.
Thanks to the connections with people from the authorities, a European project was won, with which the assembly lines were renewed. According to acquaintances, it was the journalist who was the author of the idea to launch salads with cow butter, instead of the harmful palm fat with which competitors’ products are stuffed. The results are in. Last year, the plant had a turnover of over BGN 5 million, and for the first time soleti were exported abroad – to countries from the Middle East.
For Sevda Shishmanova, the production of soleti is not the first business venture. Even as a student of Bulgarian philology, she became an importer of leather garments from Turkey. He runs the business with his relative from our southern neighbor, who spares no expense in order to establish himself on the Bulgarian market. Soon after, Shishmanova acquired one of the first sports cars in Sofia of a well-known Japanese brand
