New York, Nov 12 (EFE).- Millions of users residing on the East Coast of the United States have experienced outages in internet services in the early hours of this Tuesday, the company Verizon Fios reported, local media reported.
The affected area, according to a map of problems reported by the Downdetector page, extends approximately 300 miles (about 480 kilometers) from Philadelphia, through Pennsylvania, to Richmond and Virginia.

«We apologize for any inconvenience this is causing. “We are trying to obtain all the information from our network equipment so we can provide everyone with an update,” says the company, the largest provider of mobile services in the country.
According to local media, reports of service outages increased between midnight Monday and early Tuesday morning local time, and the network received thousands of complaints during this time.
90 percent of these complaints relate to internet services, 9 percent were described as “total blackout,” while 1 percent affected TV streaming.
Along with the stretch of the East Coast, an area of southern Kansas also appears to be affected, according to Downdetector data.
Verizon Fios is a fiber optic Internet, TV, and phone service provided by Verizon.
In addition to Verizon, other major internet service providers such as AT&T, Cox and Xfinity also saw an increase in reported outages, according to Downdetector. EFE
