Millions of BRI Life User Data Claimed to be Leaked and Sold by Hackers

An account on Twitter claimed that there was a sensitive data leak at BRI Life, which is a subsidiary of BRI engaged in the insurance sector due to the actions of BRI Life. hacker. The leaked data is called a large amount.

It is claimed that as many as 2 million BRI Life clients were affected along with 463,000 documents. The data is reportedly sold on the dark web at an asking price of USD 7,000 or in the range of Rp. 101 million.

Another account reporting the leak was from cyber security firm @Hrock. It was stated that it was possible that the computers of BRI Life employees were a means for hackers to steal data.

“We identified several computers of BRI Life and Bank Rakyat Indonesia employees that may have helped hackers gain early access to these companies,” they claim.

The data transported included identification cards, photos of account books, birth certificates, health-related data and so on. Several examples of leaked documents such as ID cards and health check documents were also shown.
