Million-dollar transfer confirmed: Pavlovic moves from Salzburg to AC Milan

The Serbian central defender is moving to the Italian major club with immediate effect, where Pavlovic received a contract until 2028. According to consistent media reports, the “Bulls” will receive around 20 million euros plus possible bonuses.

The multi-million euro transfer of Strahinja Pavlovic from Red Bull Salzburg to AC Milan has been completed since Wednesday. As the Austrian football runner-up announced, the Serbian central defender is leaving the Italian major club with immediate effect, where Pavlovic has been given a contract until 2028. No details were given about the transfer terms, according to consistent media reports, the “Bulls” will receive around 20 million euros plus possible bonuses.

Pavlovic joined Salzburg in the summer of 2022, for whom he played 71 matches (6 goals). During his time in the city of Mozart, the 23-year-old also established himself as a regular player in the Serbian national team and was part of both the 2022 and 2024 European Championships.

Seonbuchner: Transfer to top club was only “a matter of time”

For sporting director Bernhard Seonbuchner, the Pavlovic transfer was the logical consequence of his consistently strong performances. “Strahinja has shown very good performances at FC Red Bull Salzburg and has undergone great development. And after his performance with the Serbian team on the big international stage was also strong, it was clear to us that his move to a top European club would only be a matter of time. We are convinced that he will prove his quality there too,” Seonbuchner was quoted as saying in a Salzburg press release.

Pavlovic thanked his now former club. “I came to FC Red Bull Salzburg as a young player and can say today that it was the best decision I could have made at the time. Here, they rely on young players, give them every opportunity and the chance to become the best version of themselves if they are prepared to work hard. I had two wonderful years here in which I experienced a lot. But now I feel that I am ready for the next step and for new challenges,” explained the new Milan professional. (APA)
