Million dollar loan applied for – Bergsträßer Anzeiger

Zwingenberg. The city of Zwingenberg’s magistrate has applied for loans totaling around 1.2 million euros from the state of Hesse for the 2021 budget year, reports Mayor Holger Habich. With the money from the so-called Hessian Investment Fund, various projects are to be financed in the new year, for example the municipal share in the land consolidation process in the “Alte Burg” vineyard, the rehabilitation of sewers using the so-called “inliner method”, the replacement of gate valves and Hydrants for the drinking water supply as well as the development of the Rodau new building area “north of the main road”.

The fact that the magistrate applied for the loan from the state – specifically from the Hessen Economic and Infrastructure Bank – does not mean that the loans will actually be used. The city council, as the highest decision-making body in the municipality, decides whether a payment will be made. The first requirement is that the state grants the funds at all – therefore the application by the magistrate was made in good time.

The interest conditions for the million sum that were applied for as a full repayment loan with a term of 20 years are extremely favorable: The interest rate is currently 0.05 percent. what
