In a new interview with Allure tells Millie Bobby Brown that when she was just 10 years old, she was told by a “powerful” casting agent that she wasn’t going to make it in the film industry.

The reason was that she was “too mature”.

– I’ve always known that I was mature, and I couldn’t really do anything about it, she says of the message she received.

Brown had been taught that being mature was good, and being told it wasn’t hurt.

– I was very upset, she tells the magazine.

Together with the family, they moved from England to Los Angeles when she was 8 years old, because her parents had great faith in the talents of the now 18-year-old Brown.

She submitted an audition to the Duffer Brothers, who are behind the Netflix success “Stranger Things”.

YOUNG: Millie Bobby Brown (18) made her screen debut as a 9-year-old, then as an actress with Once Upon A Time in Wonderland, playing the role of young Alice.

– An inspiration

Just three months after she was told she wasn’t going to make it, her life was turned upside down when she got the role of “Eleven” in the series.

In the series, she plays a young girl with psychokinetic and telepathic abilities. On the set, she made many friends. She thought it was fun to act, and felt she reached out to a lot of people.

– I could really do something about this, I could really change the world. There was something about acting that made me feel powerful, powerful and an inspiration to people, she tells the magazine.

Later, she also played the lead role in the film “Enola Holmes”.
