Borneo FC Samarinda lost when they visited the Persib Bandung cage which was being driven from its cage without spectators. It was David da Silva’s (DDS) quick goal that made Borneo FC collapse 0-1 in Week 20 of League 1 2022-2023, at Pakansari Stadium, Bogor Regency, Thursday (26/1/2023).
Borneo FC coach, Andre Gaspar, assessed that the afternoon’s match went hard. The referee issues two red cards. First for Ricky Kambuaya towards the end of the first half. And the red card of Kei Hirose (Borneo FC) in the 68th minute. Borneo FC tries to reply to DDS’s quick goal. Pesut Etam really dominated Maung Bandung when the opponent played with 10 players.
But none of the opportunities to be scored. They had to accept this defeat. “Today’s match we played hard but Persib scored a quick goal and our players worked hard to find good positions and opportunities but we couldn’t score, we lost the game,” said Andre.
Borneo FC again had to fast for wins in the last four matches. Andre Gaspar revealed his current constraints on the team. “We had a lot of chances but couldn’t score. This is football, so we have to focus on going forward and work hard again,” he explained.
The team that is the pride of Samarinda City will see opportunities ahead to maximize the mid-season transfer window. The Brazilian coach wants to fix the problem of vision and finishing.
“There is still time, but we have a good team. We have to be better at last passing and finishing too. We have to focus on finishing,” he said.
