From January 26 to February 9, pilots of the Swiss Air Force will train in Albacete (Spain) together with military pilots of NATO countries – Greece, Spain, Italy, France and the Czech Republic. SIA reports that, according to the Swiss government, Bern is participating in the exercise as part of NATO’s Partnership for Peace program and on the basis of a bilateral agreement with Madrid.
The purpose of the Tactical Leadership Program (TLP 241) exercise is to strengthen the defense capability of the Swiss Army through international cooperation, the statement said.
About 36 Swiss soldiers will go to Spain. In total, more than 300 military personnel, about 30 combat aircraft and air defense systems will be involved in the exercises.
