Three members of the National Guard were killed in a helicopter crash in New York State. They were on a training flight with a UH-60 Black Hawk transport helicopter, Mendon city authorities announced on Wednesday.
Investigations into the cause of the accident have been initiated. The governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, expressed his condolences to the relatives of the “honorable heroes”. Monroe County’s Sheriff Todd Baxter said eyewitnesses contacted 911 and said the helicopter was flying very low and that the engine was making stuttering noises.
