(CNN Spanish) – The president of Argentina, Javier Milei, met this Thursday in Florida with the president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, the Argentine president’s office reported on his X account, where he posted a photograph of the meeting.
Also appearing in the image are businessman Elon Musk — who in the next United States government will head a new “Department of Government Efficiency, according to what Trump has said —; Karina Milei, general secretary of the Presidency of Argentina and sister of President Milei; and Gerardo Werthein, chancellor of the South American country.

The meeting took place within the framework of an America First Institute gala at Mar-a-Lago, where Trump gave a speech in which he mentioned Milei. Trump said that he congratulates the economist for the work he has done as president of Argentina – a position he assumed on December 10, 2023 – and, alluding to his well-known motto “Make America great again.” again), urged him: “Make Argentina great again.”
