Milei government aligns itself with the US economic embargo on Cuba

Buenos Aires. In a complex and dangerous political scenario in Argentina at a time when the government of far-right President Javier Milei, who came to power openly declaring that he was being financed by Israel and the United States, has signed, among others, agreements that annul the country’s sovereignty in the South Atlantic and in the coveted Patagonia, handing over the misnamed and strategic waterway of the Paraná River to a battalion of American soldiers, now trying to be the center of Washington’s plans to hit Cuba, Venezuela and other countries in the region.

Cubana de Aviación, an airline from the Republic of Cuba, had to cancel flights to Buenos Aires this Wednesday because the local airlines refuse to provide them with fuel, which means that we can expect a series of actions against that country.

“Given the abrupt refusal of aviation fuel supply companies in the Argentine Republic to provide service to the Cubana de Aviación airline and its flights authorized by ANAC, invoking provisions of the United States blockade measures against Cuba,” a statement said. of that company.

It also reports that Cubana flights that were due to depart between April 23 and 24 were canceled and the refusal extends to other airlines contracted by the Cuban company to try to transfer the affected passengers, thus preventing compliance with the commitments assumed by that airline.

This also affects Argentine passengers who are in Cuba, whom Cubana responsibly tries to place on other airlines returning to this country.

The measure is very serious and with this it is evident that the Milei government joins the blockade against Cuba that the United States has maintained since 1961, later reinforced with the Helms-Burton Law of 1996.
