Milano Monza Motor Show 2021: dates set

NEW DATES – Born from the ashes of the Turin Auto Show Parco Valentino, the Milan Monza Motor Show (DESPITE) is an outdoor event organized in the two Lombard cities. The first edition was scheduled for June 2020, but was postponed to the end of October due to the health emergency; then, in light of the increase in cases, the organizers decided to cancel the event and make an appointment for next year. We now know when it will take place, June 10-13 2021.

THE ACTIVITIES – In announcing the new dates, the organizers of the Milan Monza Motor Show they anticipated that edition 2021 it will offer the same attractions as the one that should have taken place this year, starting with the exhibition of cars and motorcycles in the streets of downtown Milan. Also in Milan, in the square of the Castello Sforzesco, hybrid and electric models will be exhibited, to see and even try for free. The President Parade has also been confirmed (the parade in Piazza Duomo of previews led directly by the presidents and CEOs of the car manufacturers, broadcast live on TV), while at the Monza racetrack there will be exhibitions of racing cars, rallies and driving sessions: in this case, however, access is paid.

OPPORTUNITY TO RELAUNCH – Below are the statements of the representatives of the organizations and institutions that support the event:

Andrea Levy, President MIMO: “We have the great opportunity to make MIMO 2021 an international event, with the presentation of world premieres and the presence of world presidents and managers. With the houses, with the media, with the partners we want to develop an event capable of giving a boost to a sector strongly affected by this health emergency and I thank the cities of Milan and Monza who have confirmed their support, together with the Region. Lombardia and ACI “.

Fabrizio Sala, Vice President of the Lombardy Region: “Lombardy confirms itself as a Region with very important numbers in the automotive sector. Manufacturers and companies drive the whole market and this edition of Milano Monza Open-Air Motor Show represents, in a particular moment like this, the desire to know all the most interesting car and motorcycle news in the name of passion and fun, for streets of Milan and on the track in Monza, in the unique and inimitable scenario such as the Autodrome. We are proud that our two cities can attract enthusiasts and professionals for four days of exhibition and celebration because Lombardy is a land of innovation, but also of entertainment and attraction in the world of engines “.

Dario Allevi, Mayor of Monza: “The pandemic hasn’t stopped our ideas, our enthusiasm and our determination. He only postponed the appointment with the Milan Monza Motor Show. The result achieved is the result of a loyal and open collaboration between institutions, a team game that in Lombardy in recent years has become a “method” that has led us to win the bet of Expo2015 and to obtain victory for the organization of the Olympics. winter of 2026, together with Cortina. The same line-up, with the indispensable contribution of Andrea Levy, President of MIMO, today celebrates another extraordinary event that we will have the pleasure of essentially experiencing in our Autodrome, an icon in Italy and in the world of speed, technology and innovation. The same “weapons” that see Lombardy and Brianza at the forefront in the world in sectors such as design, artificial intelligence, highly innovative start-ups and, in fact, the automotive sector, of which Monza and the Autodromo are the symbols “.

Angelo Sticchi Damiani, President of ACI: “The passion restarts and MIMO confirms its ambitions, despite the postponement caused by the pandemic. Just as ACI confirms its support for the event that brings Italy back to the attention of the great international motoring industry, offering car lovers an extraordinary overview of today’s and near future mobility ”.

Geronimo La Russa, President of Automobile Club Milano: “The long wait that characterized the ‘Milano Monza Open Air Motor Show’ will allow MIMO to establish itself as an increasingly attractive event for car manufacturers and interesting for hundreds of thousands of fans. This event is unique in its kind and the innovations introduced will transform it into an international reference point for the entire automotive world. It will also be an opportunity to relaunch both the car sector and the economy and tourism of our territories, severely tested by the pandemic ”.

Michele Crisci, President of UNRAE: “Events such as the Milano Monza Motor Show become an integral part of the recovery of a sector which, with this pandemic, has suffered a dramatic halt in sales: the forecasts for the end of the year project a level of registrations which should probably be below 1,400. 000 units, down by over 27% compared to 2019. Each euro allocated to the renewal of the car fleet is not a gift to the sector but rather an investment, which has so far borne positive results: both in environmental terms, with the scrapping of vehicles more polluting, both as a return for the state coffers in terms of tax revenues higher than the dedicated allocation. Furthermore, it should not be overlooked that a recovery in the automotive sector would also entail minor burdens on social security. In a scenario like this, it is important that the sector is united in offering itself to the public in an event such as MIMO, free for visitors and in the open air, with the display of new products, almost all equipped with engines designed for environmental sustainability. “.

Gianmarco Giorda, Director of ANFIA: “Our best wishes to the organizers of the event for the maximum success of the new format that will debut in 2021 and which we hope will represent a restart signal for the world of shows, so penalized by the health emergency, and for the automotive sector in general . The formula of the widespread exhibition will allow all visitors to appreciate en-plein-air the latest models of the manufacturers and thus to deepen their knowledge of product innovations, from increasingly green and efficient engines, to integrated digital devices that offer new services and contribute to making driving safer, in addition to innovative solutions in terms of car design thanks to the excellence of the companies of the ANFIA Coachbuilders and Designers Group. We are also preparing to make a contribution to rekindle the spotlight on the passion for motorsport, renewing the commitment to participate with the Formula SAE Italy teams, the educational event organized by ANFIA that we hope will return to be held in attendance next July. “.
