“El Chapo” in Colorado in Haft

While “El Chapo” (67), whose cartel was known for its brutality, continues his life sentence in a prison in Colorado (USA), his wife floated down the catwalk on Sunday in a royal, innocent white wedding dress in the Palazzo Serbelloni, where Napoleon once lived.

The jewelled gown is by the well-known US designer April Black Diamond. She wrote about her convicted model on Instagram: “As a designer, I believe that everyone deserves a second chance, and Mode is the perfect platform to highlight transformation, strength and resilience.”

“El Chapo” (Spanish for “The Little One”) is the founder of the Mexican drug cartel Sinaloa. At one point he was considered one of the most wanted criminals in the world. In 2019, a New York court sentenced him to life imprisonment plus 30 years for drug trafficking, money laundering and weapons offenses, among other things. When he was arrested in 2014, he stated that he was responsible for the deaths of 2,000 to 3,000 people. According to government figures, 29 people were killed during his arrest, including ten military personnel.

“El Chapo” is in the maximum security prison ADX Florence in the mountains of Colorado, one of the most secure prisons in the USA.
