Match referee AC Milan vs AS Roma, Piero Giacomelli, became the spotlight after giving two penalties which were considered dubious. What did the coaches of the two teams say?
Duel Milan vs Roma at the San Siro in advance Italian League, Tuesday (27/10/2020) in the morning WIB, it was exciting. The two teams replied to the goals until finally it ended in a 3-3 draw.
In that match, the referee Piero Giacomelli awarded a penalty for each team. Roma got a penalty first in the 68th minute. Ismael Bennacer is considered to have knocked down Pedro who was trying to grab a vomiting ball in front of the goal.
In the 79th minute, it was Milan’s turn to get a penalty. The referee pointed to the spot after Gianluca Mancini was deemed to have violated Hakan Calhanoglu.
The penalty decision received both protests from each team. The two penalties were considered dubious.
Roma coach, Paulo Fonseca, reluctant to blame the referee for these penalties. He prefers to comment on Roma’s struggles which three times avenged Milan’s advantage.
“I don’t have to comment, we all have days where we make mistakes. He made mistakes for both teams,” said Fonseca. Sky Sport.
“The good thing is that we scored three goals, although it was not good we conceded three goals. A balanced match, we started conceding but we reacted well and with courage,” continued Fonseca.
“It’s not what I wanted, because I wanted to win. But after all that happened, after falling behind after three minutes, I think this is a positive result.”
On the other hand, the Milan coach, Stefano Pioli, also did not want to say much about the referee.
“I don’t want to comment on it,” said Pioli briefly.
With this result, AC Milan still tops Italian League standings with 13 points from five games. While AS Roma is in ninth place with eight points.
