After advances and setbacks, Milan’s project for a new solo stadium gained more strength. In 2021, the Rossoneri and Inter had agreed to build a new joint home not where Giuseppe Meazza was born prohibition of its demolition led to the idea losing momentum. Now, financially more stable, Milan chose the Manica project – a firm specializing in the construction of sports venues, particularly in the USA – from a total of 13 on the table and took an important step towards ’emancipation’.

Thus, this new project envisages a stadium with capacity for 70 thousand spectators, two rings, the largest giant screens in the country, a museum and an entire sports and economic center that ‘lives’ beyond the football team’s games, becoming in a dynamic and reference space in terms of entertainment in Europe – hosting concerts or other types of events. The idea is to start construction in 2025 and finish it by 2029, when Milan would start to operate in the new home, putting an end to a connection to San Siro that began in 1926.

The location of the stadium will also change, with the club moving to the outskirts of Milan, more specifically to the commune of San Donato. By way of comparison, San Siro is located in a central area. By Record
