At the beginning of this year, the 28-year-old defender refused to extend his expiring contract with the Nerazzurri, and subsequently a transfer to PSG was in play, but no agreement was reached. Škriniar therefore goes to the capital of France as the most valuable free player of the current transfer window.

Škriniar is moving after six years in which he won the Scudetto and four cup trophies with Inter, with the Nerazzurri losing to Manchester City in the Champions League final last season. He played for the Milan club in 246 competitive games with a balance of 11 goals scored.
The 58-time representative of Slovakia will play for PSG under the guidance of coach Luis Enrique, whose engagement was confirmed by the French club yesterday.
