In 1994, in collaboration with Petr Bošnak, he published the book Jiří Schelinger: Life and… In March 2011, he unveiled a commemorative plaque to his brother in Čestmírova Street in Prague’s Nuslí.
He was born on February 18, 1952 in Bousov. Before long, his family moved to Prague’s Nuslí, where he lived a significant part of his life. His father was a music teacher and he himself fell into music very early. He started playing the violin and later the guitar as a child.
In the first half of the eighties, he performed in the group Projektil. In 1986 and 1987, he collaborated with the underground band The Plastic People of the Universe, with whom he took part in the recording of their album Hovězí poráža, which took place at Václav Havel’s cottage in Hrádečka.
He also performed as a soloist, participated in the Earthquake project, which was a tribute to Jiří Schelinger’s songs, and founded the Milan Schelinger Band.
He was also an artist. He organized several exhibitions, for example with Vladimír Renčín. In the years 1997 to 2001, he was the chairman of the Czech Crown, the monarchist party of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia.
