Milan announced that they had made Rebic permanent through the club’s official website on Sunday (13/9) WIB. The player from Croatia is under contract for five years by Milan until June 2025.
“AC Milan is proud to announce that it has signed it from Eintracht Frankfurt, Ante Rebic. He has been under contract for a certain period of time,” read a statement on Milan’s official website.
“The Croatian forward is tied to the Rossoneri until 30 June 2025.”
Rebic previously appeared charming with Milan last season when on loan from Frankfurt. He is able to pack 15 goals and five assist at all events with Il Diavolo. His incision helped Milan finish in sixth place in the 2019/2020 Serie A.
Many parties have predicted that Rebic will be permanent in Milan a few days before this official statement comes out. The reason is, Milan had already decided to sell Andre Silva to Frankfurt.
Milan and Frankfurt are believed to have agreed on the future of Silva and Rebic since Thursday (10/9) after having had quite tough negotiations. The two players were previously involved in a loan swap without a permanent purchase option.
The transfer value of Silva and Rebic was both not revealed by the Milan and Frankfurt camps.
Rebic also changed the jersey number after Milan permanent. He switched from number 18 which he wore last season to number 12.
