Milan Coach Stefano Pioli on the Brink of Dismissal: Who Will Replace Him?

Stefano Pioli’s hours are now numbered. The Parma coach is close to being sacked: a former AC Milan legend will take his place.

Tuesday evening’s home defeat against Edin Terzic’s Borussia Dortmund, in the match valid for the fifth matchday of the Champions League group stage, was obviously not received well by the Milan of owner Gerry Cardinale who would have started to look around to find a replacement for Stefano Pioli.

A sensational debacle, the one against the gialloneri, which came at the end of a match dominated for long stretches by the rossoneri despite the various absences which forced, in some ways, the Emilian manager to make a virtue of necessity with the few players left available.

An endless series of injuries, the one the Devil has been dealing with for weeks, which is in fact forcing the former Lazio and Fiorentina coach to redesign his formation by positioning various players in roles not exactly suited to their characteristics (Krunic placed as central defender on Tuesday evening is an example of this).

Saturday evening’s match against Eusebio Di Francesco’s very fast Frosinone will therefore most likely represent the last resort for Stefano Pioli, who will obviously be called upon to win against the Ciociari not only to confirm themselves in the Champions League zone and keep in the wake of Juventus and Inter, but above all to postpone, at least for a few weeks, an exemption which, right now, appears increasingly closer.

Milan, Pioli increasingly closer to dismissal: hypothesis of ferryman until the end of the season

In case of failure to win against Eusebio Di Francesco’s Frosinone, the paths of Milan and Stefano Pioli could part permanently. After the scudetto won in the 2021-2022 season, the Parma coach seems to have his hours numbered on the bench of Devil who, to replace him, could consider the crazy idea, Andriy Shevchenko.

A technician, the Ukrainian one, wholinked to the Via Aldo Rossi club in the hours following the home defeat against Borussia Dortmund, he could take on the role of ferryman until the end of the season which, regardless of who will actually take Pioli’s place, will have to end with Milan qualifying for the Champions League for the fourth year in a row.

Milan, Pioli’s replacement is already at home: Abate ready for promotion to the first team

Although Shevchenko’s possible arrival on the Milan bench has already been warmly welcomed by the majority of Rossoneri fans, Gerry Cardinale’s company, on the contrary, is instead thinking of a low cost hypothesis whichaccording to what is reported on the pages of Tuttosport, leads straight to Ignazio Abate.

The former Milanese full-back, now at the helm of the Primavera del Diavolo team, could in fact sit on the bench of the first team if Stefano Pioli does not win against Frosinone Saturday evening. A hypothesis regarding Abate’s arrival on the Milan bench, obviously not confirmed by anyone, but which could materialize in the next few days.
