The congresswoman from the Popular Renewal bench, Milagros Jáuregui, presented a bill that seeks to empower parents to choose whether or not their children take the sexual education course in the country’s schools.
The evangelical pastor also supports her request by pointing out that the right to objection guarantees that people can refrain from taking a course that violates their moral and religious beliefs.

It also maintains that parents should be the first to educate their children on issues related to sexual education in accordance with the moral and religious convictions they have.
In that sense, it proposes that educational institutions at all levels approve the exemption of the sexual education course at the request of parents and that this does not affect the student’s grades.
