Russia’s invasion of Ukraine also affects Ukrainians living outside their home country. One of them is a Hollywood star Mila Kunis (38)or Milena Markovna Kunis, as she is actually called.
She was born in the Ukrainian city of Chernivtsi in 1983, but moved to the United States as an 8-year-old, according to People.

Together with actress and husband Ashton Kutcher (44), she takes the magazine from her mouth and talks about her home country in a video published on Kutcher’s Instagram profile on Thursday.
– I have always identified myself as an American, a proud American. I love everything this country has done for me and my family, but I have never been more proud of being Ukrainian than I am today.
– And I have never been more proud of being married to a Ukrainian, the husband adds.

Will collect 30 million
Kunis says that she experiences the situation in her home country as terrible, and believes that there is no room for unjust attacks on humanity.
– At the same time as we are witnessing the courage of the Ukrainians, we are also witnessing the incomprehensible burden of those who have chosen security, Kutcher says.
The star couple further explains that they have set up a fundraiser on GoFundMe with a goal of raising 30 million dollars for Ukrainian refugees.
They also state that they will match up to three million dollars in donations. So far, they have collected three million dollars, which is equivalent to around 26.8 million Norwegian kroner.

“Today I am a proud Ukrainian. Although my family came to the United States in 1991, I was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine in 1983 “, is among what Kunis writes in the description of the fundraiser.
– The Ukrainians are strong and brave, but being strong and brave does not mean that you are not worthy of support, the Ukrainian-American star believes.
Kunis has previously opened up about returning to his home country in adulthood in an interview with Net-A-Porter in 2017. She described the experience as strange.
– There is a part of you that wants to feel something for the place. I felt nothing. We landed and Ashton just said, “No?” and I just, “No, nothing,” Kunis said at the time.

During a visit to her hometown, she wanted to show her husband the house she grew up in.
– We went to our house and I knocked on the door because we wanted to see. And the new owner just: “No!” She did not care. I said, “I lived here when I was little, my parents are here with me.” She would not even open the door. That experience was humiliating.
