Mikron suffers from paralysis of the auto market

Mikron’s finances have been hit hard by the Covid19 pandemic. The precision machinery maker saw first-half revenue fall 31.4% year-over-year, along with lower operating profit (EBIT). At issue: the current paralysis of the automotive market, caused by the Coronavirus. These figures are in line with forecasts given by Mikron. This decrease is expected to continue in the second half of 2020, according to the company.

Mikron is a global supplier of assembly and test systems. Its headquarters are in Biel, and the Swiss subsidiaries are in Boudry and Agno (TI). The company is also established in Germany, the United States, China and Singapore. / awp-cbe
