Agreements are being made in Malta for Turkey to strengthen border control and limit the wave of refugees on its border, and therefore it will receive 3 billion euros, which we will also pay.” This was stated by the chairman of the BSP, Mihail Mikov, in a question to Deputy Prime Minister Meglena Kuneva during the parliamentary blitz-control.

The leader of the Socialists noted that the invisible results of the November 11 meeting in Malta are being learned gradually. “We understand that Europe is moving towards a decision to grant 3 billion euros to Turkey, of which 500 million euros will come from the EU budget and the other 2.5 billion euros will be collected by the member states,” Mikov added. He asked if Bulgaria will participate in this fund, on what principle and how will 400,000 refugees be distributed in the member countries that are in Turkey. “It is not about those 160,000 for redistribution, for which the measures are not implemented. According to my information, only 147 have been transferred to Sweden and Luxembourg”, stressed the chairman of the BSP.

“What kind of European solidarity does the weakest, poorest, lowest GDP country get, unlike Turkey. It will receive much more than Bulgaria received within the framework of “Schengen facilities” and does the government intend to put these questions to our friends from Brussels?” Mikov asked. According to him, France has already decided that this issue will be discussed in the Assembly and with a decision of the French Parliament what will be the participation in this fund and the quotas for refugees.

“I propose that, instead of committees – and leaving the citizens with the impression that something is being done secretly – this issue should be discussed in the National Assembly and it should decide on Bulgaria’s participation in this fund and on determining the clear quotas for refugees. because the Bulgarian citizens will pay them”, concluded Mihail Mikov.
