Mikov: Kuneva will complete the liquidation of education –

/ world today news/ A new life is being sought for the right through anti-communism, believes the BSP leader

“The opposition cannot support personal changes in the cabinet. We will not support Meglena Kuneva for Minister of Education, because she will complete the liquidation of Bulgarian education, which began during the previous mandate of GERB. Kuneva sets out to implement a right-wing policy in the educational sphere proposed by GERB”. This was stated by the chairman of the BSP, Mihail Mikov, on the air of “Darik”.

According to Mikov, the main problem in education is that a law is being pushed that abolishes the Law on Public Education. This makes education more inaccessible, more distant from people, breaks the unified state education system. The leader of the socialists gave an example of the division of the curriculum into mandatory and one that will be determined by the schools, according to their capabilities and the wishes of the students. Along with this, home education is also being introduced, which creates conditions at home to learn, for example, Islam and other religions.

“This is a difficult and burdensome law that will make it extremely difficult to enforce the legislation. His reading is controversial. It is not clear what the curriculum of the Bulgarian student looks like. Works such as “History of Slavic Bulgaria”, classics such as Botev, Vaptsarov, Smirnenski are being moved, ideology is being brought in – the neoliberal ideology. Education is burdened with political expectations,” Mikov pointed out. “I also hear that some want to study periods of history that are not history but are related to current politics,” the left-wing leader added. According to him, it is about the socialist period and the one after 1989, which can have contradictory interpretations. In order to study them, enough time must have passed so that their reading is not burdened with modern politics, stressed Mikhail Mikov.

The chairman of the BSP also commented on the debate that arose around the term “Turkish slavery”, expressing the opinion that the children should receive what is the end point of this debate, and not that it creates in society the feeling that we do not know where we are going and what they are the goals. “In the end, quite a few millions of European money were spent to prove that what is being done is something new and different from an education system that was valued quite highly,” recalled Mikov. He pointed out that currently 12% of children drop out of school and noted that the authorities solve this problem with the new law by creating the possibility of leaving school earlier – instead of up to the 8th grade, it will be studied up to the 7th grade.

The capacity of the Bulgarian state to keep its secrets is destroyed

The leader of the socialists defined as absurd the proposals of the right, providing for a fine for Bulgarian citizens who keep a portrait of Zhivkov, Stalin, Dimitrov. At the same time, BSP LEFT BULGARIA submitted a law on the archive of documents of the State Security and the intelligence services of the Bulgarian People’s Army. It repeals the law on files and closes the commission of the same name, which mainly brings discord into Bulgarian society.

“Some kind of new life on the right is being sought through anti-communism,” commented Mikhail Mikov. “Lukovmarsh is being prepared in Sofia, but the rulers are not taking any action.” At the same time, their law was introduced in the Dena in memory of the victims of the Holocaust – there is some sign in all this,” added the chairman of the BSP.

According to Mikov, in view of the blows that were inflicted on the Bulgarian special services, there are enough reasons for the dossier commission to be closed, especially now, when there are new challenges for national security and Bulgaria has to keep its secrets, as does the Turkish, American , the Russian state. “What is happening is the destruction of the Bulgarian state’s capacity for this,” warned the leader of the left.
