Mikov: I gave up the nomination for president because the election has already been decided – 2024-09-27 19:44:31

/ world today news/ In “The Day Begins”, Mikhail Mikov discussed the vote of the BSP for Gen. Radev, and the ideological clashes between the party and ABV. He stated that voters who put their trust in the left will find it difficult to support a coalition of BSP and ABV if the party does not make changes.

Mihail Mikov, Chairman of the National Council of the Bulgarian Socialist Party: There cannot be a BSP – Left Bulgaria – ABV coalition. It is obvious that it is a matter of revising the coalition on the occasion of the presidential elections, because it is clear that the BSP – Left Bulgaria is a coalition for the presidential elections as well. Yesterday, the Management received a mandate to hold talks regarding the candidacy in what format it should be nominated.

Mihail Mikov refused to be a candidate for president of the BSP, because the election was predetermined: “I thought that the result would be as it was yesterday in the secret ballot. There was clear taking of sides”.

On Monday, ombudsman Maya Manolova also withdrew from the race on the grounds that there were “backroom deals”. Mikov commented that there was pressure on her to give up.

If the BSP does not win the presidential elections, the issue of responsibility for the results must first be clarified. The second important issue is to seek restoration of trust, commented Mihail Mikov.

For the BSP, the most important thing is for it to remain a first-class player, especially because of the need for Bulgarian citizens to represent their interests, Mikov pointed out.
