In December 2013, as chairman of the 42nd National Assembly, Mihail Mikov with an official Bulgarian delegation took part in a business forum in China. In meetings with the China Development Bank, he discussed investment opportunities in major energy and infrastructure projects, including the Belene NPP and the Petrokhan Tunnel, in which interest had been expressed. Subsequently, no measures were taken by the Bulgarian side.
