/ world today news/ Does the president want to remove himself from history?
Instead of talking about education, healthcare, economy and demography, Plevneliev once again divides
“The President of Bulgaria stated that “a quarter of a century after the fall of the Berlin Wall … there was no change in the elites in our country. The same old faces associated with the Communist Party and its unscrupulous security services continue their attempts to dominate our society” . Does this mean that Rosen Plevneliev wants to remove himself from history?”. This was asked by the chairman of the BSP, Mihail Mikov, in a comment on the speech of the head of state on the occasion of the Day of tribute to the memory of the victims of the communist regime in Bulgaria – February 1. “Well, isn’t he himself, along with his friends from the right-wing government, an essential part of these political elites, connected to both State Security and our Communist Party, which the president thunders in his statement?! Hasn’t everyone seen how for the past 26 years the same individuals have been occupying the right-wing political space and periodically occupying ministerial and other leadership positions on behalf of a variety of political projects?!”, notes Mikov on Facebook.
According to the leader of the socialists, something else is more important – “instead of talking about the problems in education, health care, economy and demographic development, the president once again chose to divide with sharp appeals on insignificant topics. His address today is nothing more than another cheap attempt by a confused person to distinguish himself from his own past and the history of his country”, believes Mikhail Mikov. “Is there any Bulgarian who does not know that Rosen Plevneliev comes from a family of communist leaders and he himself was an activist in the period until November 10, 1989. I just want to recall part of the open letter of Mr. Ivan Grozdanov to Mr. n Rosen Plevneliev since the end of 2014, which was published in the media:
“…You yourself are the son of a communist father and mother and you grew up under the conditions of socialism. You were at the rest stations of the Central Committee, you were an activist of the Pioneer and Komsomol organizations. Your father, his light finger, was a long-time worker of the District Committee of the party in Blagoevgrad – head of the “Education” sector, and your mother – a long-time secretary of the primary party organization in the high school where she worked. Both were honest, modest, dignified, respected people. … I am still struggling to explain why, for example, when you became president, it was as if you did not want the public to know that your parents were members of the BKP and its functionaries…”.
“And while there is a dispute as to whether there was slavery or presence, it at least it seems indisputable that there was Janissary. And apparently it has remained permanently in the soul and psyche of some Bulgarians to this day”commented the chairman of the BSP.
